Krav Maga Instructors in the UK

The International Krav Maga Federation has gained world recognition for the quality of its Krav Maga and its Instructor training. The IKMF is the worlds foremost Krav Maga organisation offering a range of Internationally Recognised Training Qualifications. These include civilian, Police and Military Instructor Qualification as well as a range of VIP protection courses.

Instructors in the UK

IKMF instructors are required to have  have undergone and passed an intensive 23 Day  Professional  Instructors Diploma course. Successful graduates of the course are required to maintain and update their skills at instructor training days throughout the year. UK Instructor update training lasts  1 - 4 days and is run 4 times a year.  Many IKMF Instructors have  completed Military and/or Police Instructors courses or work within these environments. The majority of certified instructors also hold Black Belts in other disciplines prior to being accepted onto the instructors course.

Become an Instructor

If you are interested in becoming an Instructor I would strongly recommend the IKMF Instructors diploma course. Its  broken down in 3 parts consisting of 9 days, a further 9 days then a final 5 days. Its physically very tough but a real experience.  The course Instructors are International Instructors and at a level few will train with.

The IKMF Instructor course requirements are;

Background - 4 years in other martial art, Boxing or Kick-boxing, with good punching and kicking abilities.
(In Europe, we have the average of participators - about 27 years old, with background of  8-10 years in other systems, we had people over 50 years old with up to 7th degree black belt in other systems, but most  people are younger :-)  
Age, over 20 ; Good physical condition / fitness ; Recommendation from one of the following people - a teacher / MA instructor / police officer ;
No Criminal record ; An interview ; The ability to pay the course ; Teaching background is an advantage ;

Costs

The IKMF course is proportionately cheaper than the  range of " be an instructor in  only 5 days" type courses  now cropping up. Authentic IKMF training costs £1750 for 23 days solid training and assessment.  The drawback is its also tougher.
